Based on a find from Lisbjerg, Denmark, they sport a very cheerful looking gripping beast design. They are lighter than our previous version with a new mould being produced to replicate the traditional construction method. As a result, the back of the brooch is patterned with weave from the cloth used when making the mould - just like the originals.

The brooches are 8.2 cm long, and weigh about 90g each. They are cast in lead free pewter in Scotland and hand assembled by the Asgard crew.
